The Lost World (1925)

The Lost World...
Released in 1925, the movie took 7 years to create, due to the SFX which were way ahead of their time. It is based on the 1912 novel of the same name. A large sum of the movie has never been found, such as the clip of Conan Doyle at the start of the film sitting down to write the story. The stop motion effects in the film were so groundbreaking that they had many people fooled (including Houdini) believing the dinosaurs featured were real, this paved the way for movies like King Kong and later inspired Ray Harryhausen.
